The Maintenance & Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, reliability, and continuous improvement of smart greenhouse technical systems. The role covers preventive and corrective maintenance, automation systems, energy efficiency, contractor coordination, and compliance with safety and operational standards.

• • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot smart greenhouse systems, including: climate control, irrigation and fertigation, lighting, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of automation software, sensors, and environmental control platforms.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve maintenance strategies and procedures to minimize equipment downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and operational standards and procedures.
  • Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining high equipment performance and facility reliability.
  • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to procure high-quality services, spare parts, and materials.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing maintenance processes, reducing costs, and improving system reliability.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are accurately documented in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and maintenance supplies, proactively planning re-orders to avoid operational delays.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to equipment breakdowns and technical incidents to minimize operational impact.
  • Implement energy-saving measures and sustainability best practices within maintenance operations.
  • Propose technical improvements, system optimizations, and investments in new or upgraded equipment.

• • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with greenhouse climate control and automation systems (e.g. Priva, Hoogendoorn, or similar platforms) is a strong advantage.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in technical and automated environments.
  • Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and operational regulations.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality and operational excellence.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
