CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER - BUCHAREST

Job Summary:

 

The Chief Financial Officer will direct and oversee the all-financial activities, direct the preparation of current financial reports (annual, semestrial, quarterly) and summaries, and create projections and budgets.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements financial strategies that align with business objectives and support long-term growth;
  • Develops and maintains financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Oversees financial operations and directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports;
  • Actively participate in development initiatives such as fundraising, external growth, mergers and acquisitions and initial public offerings;
  • Providing financial analysis and guidance to the executive team to support decision-making;
  • Manages relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, financial institutions and legal authorities;
  • Oversees the implementation and the maintenance of the ERP system (particularly, but not limited to the finance and the accounting modules of the ERP system);
  • Leads the development and implementation of risk management strategies;
  • Ensures that financial practices align with industry standards and best practices;
  • Works with the CEO and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process;
  • Leads, inspires, develops and guides a high-performing finance team;
  • Ensures team members are clear about their roles, responsibilities, objectives, key performance measures and work schedule; regularly reviews their performance;
  • Coaches team members to enable high performance, acting as a role model;
  • Permanently assesses internal control, and recommends improvements;
  • Reviews compliance with stock exchange corporate governance model and drives alignment of internal policies to that model.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Accounting, Business Administration or related field;
  • ACCA, CIMA or similar qualifications are preferable;
  • Extensive capabilities (at least 5 years) in budget control, financial analysis, business decisions, financial process improvement to deliver long-term financial objectives and drive shareholder value;
  • People management experience at least 2 years;
  • Experience in identifying, attracting, structuring and overseeing completion of bank financing opportunities;
  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to use written and oral communication skills to influence management behavior that drive cost control, improve cash flow and emphasizes good internal controls;
  • Strong problem solving and an ability to think creatively and generate solutions;
  • Independent user in ERP and experience in ERP’s implementation;
  • Strong Accounting Information System knowledge (IFRS and RAS) is essential;
  • Independent thinker/self-starter who can perform with minimal supervision/guidance
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, advanced skills in Excel;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Willing to travel occasionally.
