CHIEF ACCOUNTANT - BUCHAREST

 

The Chief Accountant will ensure the maintenance of the company's general ledger and accuracy of accounting records, procedures, and daily supervision on compliance with the local requirements and group reporting standards.

We are looking for a motivated, team-working, detail-oriented and responsible person with very good accounting and tax knowledge.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  •           Managing the accounting team (8 members) to complete assigned tasks and activities within deadlines;
  •           Performing full set of accounts analysis and reconciliation, ensuring the accuracy of journal entries registered;
  •           Ensure that accounting records are in compliance with relevant statutory requirements and the company’s accounting policy;
  •           Manage and ensure timely closing activities on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis;
  •         Responsible for various financial reporting preparation i.e. Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash- flow statement. Perform periodical reporting, financial analysis, and ad-hoc support while providing and requesting financial information and analysis to the Finance Manager;
  •           Responsible for preparation of all Fiscal Statement and Tax Declarations, SAF-T statement, working points registration with Tax Office, etc;
  •           Perform statutory compliance activities, including local tax returns and all necessary statutory fillings in a timely manner;
  •           Liaising with local state authorities, banks, consultants, and company’s partners with regards to company activities, if needed;
  •           Assist in auditing activities and responsible to provide all data, information, explanations as required by the auditor;
  •           Assist the consultant in preparation of the transfer pricing file;
  •           Assist in process automation and efficiency improvement within the accounting department on a local and group level in terms of accounting procedures, tools, and team management;

 

Requirements:

  •           5+ years’ experience in a similar position;
  •           Minimum 3 years’ experience in people management;
  •           Strong leadership and management skills;
  •           Comprehensive knowledge of RAS and local tax legislation;
  •           Attention to details and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  •           Able to make comprehensive analysis with high level of complexity;
  •           Building strong-identity teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals;
  •           Good English language communication capability;
  •           Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel);
  •           Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365/ Navision is a plus;
  •           Experience with SAF-T statement is a plus;
  •           Experience with IFRS 16 is a plus;
